Terms of use

To use XPNotes you must be 18 or over and follow these rules. What you create is yours; the game is the same for everyone and never sells power.

Who we are and what XPNotes is

XPNotes is a productivity app with an RPG. XPNotes is the trade name under which Edcarlos Santos, an individual based in Paraguay (contact@xpnotes.com), runs and sells the app; he is referred to here as "we". By creating an account, you accept these Terms and the Privacy policy.

Who can use it

  • People aged 18 or over. Sign-up asks you to confirm it, and accounts belonging to minors are deleted.
  • One account per person, with an email address you actually use.

Your account

  • You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done in your account. We recommend turning on two-step verification.
  • If you notice access that wasn't you, change your password and contact us at contact@xpnotes.com.
  • You can download your data and delete your account whenever you want, in Settings → Privacy.

What's yours

What you write and upload (quests, goals, notes, photos, images and messages) stays yours. You only give us the permission needed to store, process and show that content to you and, for party messages, to your party members. We don't use your notes for advertising.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload and that it doesn't break the law or other people's rights.

Rules of conduct

On XPNotes, including in your display name and in party chat, you may not:

  • insult, threaten, harass or discriminate against anyone;
  • post sexual content, gratuitously violent or illegal content, or content that exposes other people's personal data;
  • pretend to be the XPNotes team or someone else;
  • use bots, scripts or system flaws to gain XP, gold, hunts or items, or to disrupt the service;
  • try to access accounts, data or parts of the system that aren't yours;
  • sell, buy or trade accounts or game items for money.

Messages can be reported. When a rule is broken, we may remove content, suspend or close the account, in proportion to the case, and we show the reason on screen.

The game

  • XP, gold, items, classes and anything else in the game have no monetary value, aren't your property and can't be exchanged for money.
  • We never sell XP, gold, hunts, power or progression time, not even in the Epic plan. There are no loot boxes.
  • We may adjust game balance (for example, a monster's or a skill's strength) to keep the game fair for everyone.

Plans

  • The Free plan costs nothing and includes the whole game.
  • The Epic plan is a paid subscription that unlocks tools and higher limits (for example, more notes and image uploads). What it includes and what's still in development are on the pricing page. We may add features to Epic; if we need to remove something important, we'll let you know in the app in advance.
  • The limits of each plan (for example, how many notes fit) are on the pricing page.

Visual items and Raid summons

  • The cosmetics shop has items that change only your appearance (outfits, weapon and helmet looks, backgrounds, name colors, titles). Some are sold for in-game gold and others for money; each item has a single kind of price.
  • In a Raid, you can pay to summon a boss for the whole community and immediately get that boss's Leader hat (if you already have it, one of its items of your choice) and the boss's title. The items that drop when the boss is defeated are never sold.
  • These are one-time purchases: they don't renew. The item stays on your account, even if you restart the game, and works on every device.
  • Visual items never give an advantage: they don't change attributes, XP, gold, hunts or drop chances. Like everything in the game, they have no monetary value and can't be resold or traded outside the app.
  • Refunds follow the Refund policy: when a purchase is refunded, the item is removed from the account.

Purchases and payment

  • Purchases are made through Dodo Payments, our authorized reseller (Merchant of Record): Dodo Payments charges you, issues the receipt and collects your country's taxes. When you buy, you also accept Dodo Payments' purchase terms, shown at checkout.
  • The price, currency, taxes and payment method are shown before any charge. Prices may differ by country.
  • Automatic renewal: the subscription (monthly or yearly) renews on its own at the end of each period, at the same amount shown at purchase, until you cancel. If the price changes, we'll let you know before the renewal, and the new amount only applies from then on.
  • Cancellation: any time, in Settings → Account → "Manage my subscription" → "Cancel subscription". Epic stays active until the end of the period you already paid for and doesn't renew again.
  • If a renewal charge fails, Epic stays active for a few days while Dodo Payments tries again; without payment, it ends.
  • Refunds follow the Refund policy. A card dispute (chargeback) ends the Epic plan tied to that purchase.

Gifts

  • You can buy Epic as a gift (30 days or 1 year) for another account, using their tag or a redeem link. Gifts don't renew on their own.
  • The redeem link is valid for 1 year and can be used once. Keep it safe the way you would a gift card: anyone who has the link can redeem it.
  • If the recipient already has an active subscription, the gift's days are saved and start counting when the subscription ends.

Reviews

You can send a review of XPNotes from the app (Settings → Account). The rules:

  • We want your honest opinion, good or bad. Anyone who sends one gets an in-game reward when they send it, whatever the opinion, once per account.
  • To publish it, we ask for your permission. You choose how you appear (display name, first name only or anonymous).
  • Every review is checked before it goes on the site. We only reject one for an objective reason: spam, abuse, other people's personal data or content unrelated to the app. We never reject a review for being critical.
  • We may fix spelling and translate it into the site's other languages, marking the translation. We never change its meaning.
  • On the site, reviewers who received the reward are shown with that information, and reviews from the creator's friends or family are labeled as such.
  • Reviews collected outside the app are only published with the person's written permission.
  • You can withdraw your permission any time in Settings; the review leaves the site at the next update.

AI features

The Old King's AI. The app can suggest quests for a goal or from a note, split a big quest into steps and give you a weekly counsel. They are suggestions: nothing is saved until you accept, and they can be wrong. They are not medical, psychological, financial or legal advice. If you are going through a crisis, look for professional help or a support line (in the US, 988). Use has limits per plan (on the pricing page) and a daily safety cap; using the AI to try to generate content forbidden by the conduct rules may lead to the AI being suspended on the account.

An AI you connect. You can connect your own AI (for example, Claude or ChatGPT) to your account. By tapping "Allow", you authorize that app to read your quests, goals and notes and to create quests and notes; it only edits or deletes what it created itself and, if you turn on "Allow the AI to edit your notes", it also edits your notes. The connected AI never completes quests or earns XP, gold or hunts for you. What that AI does follows your instructions and its own service terms; you can undo what it created and disconnect anytime in Settings → AI.

Availability

We work to keep XPNotes running at all times, but there may be pauses for maintenance, failures or changes. Features may change or be removed; when a change affects something important to you, we'll let you know in the app in advance whenever possible.

Liability

XPNotes is an organization tool and a game. It doesn't replace medical, psychological, financial or professional advice and doesn't promise results in your life. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect damages or for data loss caused by factors outside our control. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights that consumer protection law in your country gives you.

Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time. We may close an account that breaks these Terms seriously or repeatedly. Once an account is closed, its data is erased as described in the Privacy policy.

Changes to these Terms

If these Terms change in a meaningful way, we'll show the new version in the app and ask you to accept it before continuing. The date and version are at the top of this page.
